I just found an image of one of my first rugs that I thought was gone forever. I made this little one as part of Diana Weymar's Tiny Pricks project. I was excited to contribute by shipping my rug off to join the show as my very first publicly displayed piece.
In working on this project, learned quite a bit about the USA's illustrious then-president. In trying to choose just the right Twitter quote, I got somewhat lost in his comments, falling deeper and deeper into the nonsense that he spewed. My problem was that taken independently, outside of the man, his racist hypocrisy and idiotic doubletalk, the vast majority of the quotes were not all that bad. So how to convey this on a piece of fabric, away from Twitter, the news, and all that surrounded this farce of a presidency?
As you can see from my contribution, this message can actually be meaningful, and maybe even inspiring. After hours of scrolling through every one of his Twitter comments, I finally settled here. This message, holds it's own inner beauty and strength. But, communicated from one of the most hateful, ridiculous leaders on the world stage it is deflated to the ramblings of a mendacious madman.
